Hi! I upgraded from win 8.1 to WIn 10 32-bit Enterprise and my CP210x adapter stopped working, gives an exclamation mark and code 31. I have uninstalled driver, downloaded the newest one from your download section but it still doesn´t work. I installed it in another computer still running 8.1 without problems. Is there an driver update soon?
Best regards

My views are my own and do not necessarily represent the views of Silicon Labs
I downloaded the 8.1 version but it seems that I have to wait for driver to Win10
Thanks for Your reply!
Hello,
I migrated from Windows seven to Windows 10. I also have a problem with a cp210x adapter and its drivers. It worked well on the same machine with seven. I also tried to re-install without success. I will wait a few days.

Please refer to Tabi's comment from link below for more information about CP210x VCP driver for Windows 10.
I had a similar problem. If it was working in the older version of Windows, you could try installing a
'legacy' hardware. Instead of going the 'automatic way,' choose manual, pick comm ports, pick
SiliconLabs and the known drivers most likely will show up.
Hope that helps.
- Thanks,

Does anyone know it the ipotron Mini Tower ii (8300-2G) w/ 8401 hand controller will work on Windows 10 with the driver posted above? The hand controller uses this USB chipset. I'd like to purchase the Asus T100HA to use with this mount and it comes with Windows 10.

In case anyone is subscribed to this thread but haven't visited the forum today to see the news, I'm re-posting this here to hit your inbox:
CP210X USB to Serial Converter was installed on my HP Pavilion 500 and continued to function after upgrade to Windows 10.
Then after the anniversary upgrade the PC crashed and I had to do a factory reset (back to Windows 8) and then upgrade again to Windows 10.
Now when I try to install the 64 bit driver I get a message that the device driver installation wizard was unable to find any drivers designed for my machine.
Help please.
Inore the above. I've now followed the link in PhillipB's post and all is well.

I use Windows 10 so downloaded from your website latest driver compatible with Windows 10. Unfortunately there is no way to have this driver working/ Please see attachment.
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
Machine model: Xplore Tech iX104C6
Any ideas why driver shows an error? When I uninstall driver and install again sometimes error disappear but after reboot it is show again. How can I install this driver without issue?

Do you mind to tell us what error you found?
Maybe a screenshot helps understand what error you are encountering.

As you can see on the screenshot, error state that windows could not load the drivers.
I haven't connect any external device which use this driver (don't know it it works) but as you can see Windows gives error in device manager.

Sorry that there is some network issue yesterday and I did not see the picture you uploaded.
According below links it seems something wrong happened for the driver:
I am not sure if uninstall and reinstall the driver could help to fix the issue.
You could follow below KB to manually remove the old driver:
Happy New Year,
I don't know why but I have the same problem on my laptop, problem code 31 for this Silicon Lab CP210x usb to uart bridge on Windows 7 with the latest update's ... some time ago, can't remember exactly when I think mid October it was working fine ... it must have something to do with the Fu@%ing security updates from Windows for version 10.
I tryed to reinstall drivers, downloaded 'axpanel.ocx' ... copied it in Windows/system ... updated again my windows 7, still doesn't work ... can't use my CAT software ... please who knows something more about this problem how to solve this.
kind regards.

The FT232R is the latest device to be added to FTDI’s range of USB UART interface Integrated Circuit Devices. The FT232R is a USB to serial UART interface with optional clock generator output, and the new FTDIChip-ID™ security dongle feature. In addition, asynchronous and synchronous bit bang interface modes are available. USB to serial designs using the FT232R have been further simplified by fully integrating the external EEPROM, clock circuit and USB resistors onto the device. The FT232R adds two new functions compared with its predecessors, effectively making it a '3-in-1' chip for some application areas. The internally generated clock (6MHz, 12MHz, 24MHz, and 48MHz) can be brought out of the device and used to drive a microcontroller or external logic. A unique number (the FTDIChip-ID™) is burnt into the device during manufacture and is readable over USB, thus forming the basis of a security dongle which can be used to protect customer application software from being copied. The FT232R is available in Pb-free (RoHS compliant) compact 28-Lead SSOP and QFN-32 packages. Press releases, articles and web links related to the FT232R can be found here.
